Stadiums, Block Parties, Tech Conferences: The New Home for Live Podcasts - Live Podcast News for September 1 2025

Podcasts aren't just for earbuds anymore. They're filling arenas, going on

tours, and even partying in Vegas. From sold out stadiums to

free community shows, live podcasts are exploding everywhere.

I'm Jeff Revilla and this week on Poduty and the News, we're diving into six

stories that prove podcasting is more alive,

more fun than ever before. From bagels in New York to

podcast in the sun,

podcasters in arenas making millions on the run,

Chris long severance and PowerShell 2 piecing it

together with some toxic goo, put that search tonight.

The fans all cheer. From London to Vegas, the moment's

here. Poduty and the news with Jeff Revilla

in the chair. Live show.

Goodbye sometimes guys everywhere.

Hey everybody. This is the live podcasting News for Monday, September

1, 2025. I'm your host, Jeff Revilla. We started this

podcast to showcase live podcasting, how it can happen in

a live environment for smaller DIY podcast creators.

And each week we focus on six stories from around the country

showcasing live podcasting happening everywhere you

want to be. And right now, you want to be here at the Poduty Podcast

Theater. And I'll tell you why on our last story tonight.

Our first story. From basements to arenas,

podcasters are cashing in. This comes to us from

Bloomberg. Live podcasts aren't just small club

side hustles anymore. They're selling out arenas and raking

in millions. Kiltoni packed Madison Square Garden twice,

grossing nearly 4 million. While the rest is politics

filled London's O2 Arena. Even niche shows like

Acquired are pulling in six figures per night thanks to ticket

sales merch and sponsorships. With minimal overhead

compared to concerts, podcasters are turning live events into one of

the most profitable corners of entertainment. From

comedy crews to relationship therapists, the live podcast

boom is rewriting what it means to go on

tour. And if you've heard anything from this theater, the Paduti Podcast

Theater in Tarentum, Pennsylvania, this is our gospel.

For the last six years I've been preaching this and now we

have a space for local independent podcasters to come in

and do a live show. Check it

out@paduti.com and don't just take our word for it.

Bloomberg's writing articles on this

type of event. Our second story,

PowerShell goes live at Tech Mentor got this

screenshot from YouTube and this isn't a live show, but this is

a conference where they set up looks like in front of a closed

coffee shop. And in the environment of the show, while

people are walking past them, they're doing a live recording of their podcast.

Kind of very diy. Just set up and go and see what

happens. This is the PDQ channel on YouTube.

The PowerShell podcast took the stage at Tech Mentor, where host

sat down with Sean Wheeler and James Petty to talk shop.

What started as a casual conference chatter turned into a deep

dive on building better PowerShell profiles, learning

strategies and even AI scripting. The takeaway?

You don't need to master everything, just map your path, get

involved in the community and use AI as a tool,

not a crutch. This is just a fun little way to

do your podcast in front of a community who's already attending an

event of an audience that you serve. So if you are

having to go to a conference, see how you can participate. How can your

podcast be a part of that? Our third

story tonight, the Severance Cast reunites

in Podcast Mayhem. This comes to us from 5mu

Australia. Apple TV treated fans to a live

Severance podcast that felt more like a family reunion than

a press event. Hosted by Patton Oswalt, the cast,

including Ben Stiller, Adam Scott and Brit Lauer, read

from the show's employee handbook, cracked each other up and

reminded fans why their chemistry is off the charts.

From silly games to serious reminders of the show's corporate themes,

the reunion had fans gushing online while

begging for another season. This one of my

favorite examples of taking your show to

your fans and television is now using this.

Radio host are using this. They're using these to connect to fans with

real life experiences. Take advantage of this. This is a model that's

working for a lot of different industries.

Our fourth story tonight. Chris Long's Green Light goes

live Philly style. This comes to us from 93.

7 or 97. 3 ESPN.

Nothing says football season quite like the Eagles and Cowboys on

opening night. And Chris Long is making it even bigger.

The former super bowl champ is taking his Green Light podcast

live from the Borgata in Atlantic City. Joined

by teammate Bo Allen, fans can catch the show, grab a meet

and greet, and then roll right into the game at

BETMGM Sportsbook. With food, drinks and a 40 foot

LED wall, it's the perfect mix of Eagles pride,

podcasting and fan celebration. I mean, again, if you're

doing if you're a football fan and you're in the Philadelphia area,

Atlantic City is kind of a Philadelphia area for some reason. I guess it's the

closest team to Atlantic City. You can go.

Here's a former player connecting with his fans at a

live event. Great job. Great.

Nice job. Nice work, Chris. Long.

Story number five. Russ and Daughter's Day serves up

bagels, books in a live podcast comes to us from timeout.

The Lower east side is about to get extra tasty. Russ

and Daughters is celebrating its first cookbook with the very first

Russ and Daughters day on Saturday, September

20th. The legendary shop is turning the neighborhood into a giant

block party with walking tours, scavenger hunts, free

bagels and even a live podcast taping of

Firewall inside PNT Knitwear Studio.

It's a full day of food, history and community, proving

that when you mix smoked salmon stories and live podcasting,

you get a recipe for New York magic. A small business

in Lower east side is having a special

opening day, a whole celebration. And what are they including in that celebration?

Live podcasting. There is a trend and we are

reporting on that trend week after week. It's happening all over the world.

Let's go to our sixth story tonight. Piecing It

Together. Movies, mayhem and a live podcast in Vegas.

This comes to us from 8News Now. Las Vegas is

going full cult classic crazy this month as

David Rosen brings his Piecing It Together podcast to downtown

cinemas for a live event. It just happened

on Friday, August 29th. Fans were treated to the

Toxic Avenger before Rosen and his panel of fellow film

buffs dove into the wild inspirations behind the new remake.

With prizes, conversations and Rosen signature podcast

style, it's the perfect mashup of movie night and live

podcasting. Vegas style. They do these all the time.

They've done a ton of different movies and they go in, they play

the film and then immediately following the film is a bonus

event of their podcast and they get to discuss the

movie that they just watch with the audience. The audience asks questions, they

give their perspective. Really cool way to connect film buffs with

podcasting. And I wouldn't be remiss

if I didn't plug Poduty Live 2025 coming up

in 26 days. By the time you see this, 27

days, as of the recording, it's a live two day podcast

festival. I need you to be there whether you want to be in the theater

or be live on the screen that you see next to me. Poduty

showcase independent podcasters around the world, and we're going to do that for

two days. September 28th and 29th,

27th and 28th, coming up in just under a

month. We need podcasters, so sign up at the same link

that you can register for your ticket. We're calling for podcasters.

one last time. Let's hear that theme song. From

Bagels in New York to podcast in the sun,

Podcasters in arenas making millions on the run.

Chris long, Severance and PowerShell 2, piecing it

together with some toxic goo. What dead starts your night?
