Hey Everybody. Welcome to Poduty and the News for Monday, August 25th.
We've got some great stories coming up, but as you know, we started this podcast
to showcase what you see. Behind me is our podcast theater
outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We are trying to
enlighten people and show people all these things that are happening in the world
of podcasting that aren't just MP3 files that you download to your device
or your app. These are real events happening in the world
all based around podcasting where the audience can come in
and watch a live podcast. And that's what we're building here. That's what we're helping
to showcase from around the world. We got our first story tonight
in Indianapolis. It's the Indy Meets the Mic
coming to us from Eventbrite. This is an event you can go see. This week,
Indianapolis is turning the mic on the community. The In
Podcasting Meetup and Harrison center are teaming up for a live
podcasting and digital Creators event on August 27th.
From networking in the historic Polk Stables to a live
podcast recordings amplifying neighborhood voices,
this isn't just about content, it's about connection and
tickets are complimentary. Head over to the link in the show notes if you're in
the Indianapolis area and click that link. Go, go
support them. Go meet up fellow podcasters in the
Indianapolis area. Our second story tonight, Tarot
Tales and Terror in Salem from AudioBoom.
The strange and unexplained podcast took its chills on the road to the Witch
City Tarot Convention in Salem. This live episode
was a three part journey starting with totally
true and definitely not fabricated history
of Tarot, followed by a dive into the legendary
Hawthorne Hotel and capped with ghostly revelations from
ghost hunters Sherry Debundetti. Expect
equal parts laughs and lingering nightmares from this Salem stage
show. And you know, this is one of the things that we talk about is
get your show on the road. How can you figure out your show to
be performed in front of a live audience? There's a lot of upsides to doing
your podcast live and thinking about it as a different form of
entertainment. You know you're already entertaining people because they're
downloading your podcast. But what if you could do that in person, live
and in front of them? Our third story, Cool Tools
and Hot Tech from ISN in 2025, brought to us from
break and front end at the ISN Tool
Dealer Expo, the Tech Shop Live podcast sat down with
CPS Automotive's Dennis Eaton to talk shop,
literally. From AC service gear to
dye detection tools and Motovax preventative
maintenance systems, CPS is rolling out innovations designed to make
technicians jobs faster, cleaner and more efficient. It's a look
under the hood at the tech that keeps coming from the
auto industry. Industries need to get their information out to the
people who can't attend all these conferences. And podcasting live
from the floor is a great way to not only promote the event,
promote your podcast, but share information that needs to get to your
customers. So businesses are doing this all over the place. They're taking their shows to
the road, they're taking them to where their customers are meeting at, and they're
recording these live or they're bringing in talent who can record podcast lives
as a part of the entertainment. So keep that in mind. These are things
that people are looking for. They're looking for live podcasts.
You could be one of the ones on the showroom floor. Next year, our fourth
story comes to us from Taskmaster. Taskmaster goes
live at Just for Laughs. The Taskmaster podcast hit the stage for
the very first time. Recording live at the Just for Laughs
Comedy festival in Montreal. Host Ed
Gamble was joined by Taskmaster royalty and his real
life best mate, Nish Kumar. Together they built Nish's
ultimate Taskmaster episode, swapping stories about favorite prize
tasks, the infamous basketball challenge, and the
Monza Zuzas Kumar friendship that made Nish
such a natural part of Jason's Taskmaster journey. I believe
this is like a big show. I don't know too much about Taskmaster, but they
have a huge following on YouTube and they're taking their show on the road.
They're at the Comedy Fest in Montreal just for laughs. Another
way to connect with your fans and people who need
your services. Story
number five already tonight.
Let me turn my page.
Story number five. Made in Racine Haunted history
goes live. The Racine County Eye is launching a brand
new live podcast series called Maiden Racine,
shining a spotlight on the city's cultures, traditions and legends. The
first episode Haunted Racine Records before a live audience on
October 24 inside the historic Bell City Square,
which was once the Horlock Malted Milk Factory. The night
promises ghost stories from the Masonic center, haunted
history from local researchers, audience storytelling and
even spooky trivia. Lightning Round. It's part podcast,
part community event and rooted in Racine's eerie pass. Now here's the
community creating a podcast for the community to showcase the
community. Just a tremendous event. If you're in the Racine area,
October 21st, head on over or
October 24th, head on over and get your tickets now. And our last
story tonight, Invest Festival from Global
Grind, where wealth meets culture. Earn your leisure's Invest
Fest was back in Atlanta this past weekend and it's cementing itself as the
world's largest live podcast on financial literacy.
This year the spotlight is on AI, global investing and
creative ownership. From panels on black wealth and social media
monetization to Jack Dorsey streaming into Market
Mondays Live, to Issa Rae sharing her blueprint for creative
entrepreneurship. The event blends money talk with culture and
innovation. And to cap it off, Magic Johnson takes the
stage for the billionaire blueprint. This is a
crazy event when you look at the star studded cast and who's there and what
they're talking about. Check out Invest Fest next year. If you did missed it this
year. I believe they do have a live stream or a replay ticket.
Check out the link that brought is from Global Grind. There's a link to get
the tickets over there in the show notes. Over there in the show
notes. And our last story of sneaking in a
