Hey, everybody. Welcome to Podutyi and the News for May 5,
2025. This is the only live news podcast recorded
live most of the time. Let's hear that theme music.
It's Poduty and the News with Jeff on the mic. We got stories
tonight that you're gonna like. From Vermont rock shows to career
Reados. Kelly's going live. Yeah, that's big news. And if true crime's your
fix, we've got the twist. Midwest murder is one you can't
miss. All right, we've
got a great show lined up for you today. I say recorded live because usually
we're at the Poduty Live Podcast Theater in downtown Tarentum,
but this past week, western Pennsylvania has had some
seriously bad storms. I just got my Internet back on
Saturday, so I'm recording this episode from my home studio.
No sense of going out there and, and, you know, get
in front of everybody. We'll just do this one live from from home. We're recording
live on streamyard tonight and we've got some great
stories for you. We've got four
stories and I got some upcoming events for you.
Let's go to that first story for Monday, May
5, 2025. We're gonna file this one
under maximizing stage time and ticket
sales in the subcategory of I. I freaking love this.
This comes to us from the Burlington Free Press and Vermont based
musician Troy Millette is turning his passion for
storytelling into a live concert podcast
hybrid experience. Backed by his band the
Fire Below, Millet is combining live music with
podcast style conversations and behind the scenes
insights, offering fans a deeper connection to to the
songs and stories that inspire him. With upcoming shows.
Featuring guests like Weedus, Steve Poltz, Soul
Asylum and REO Speedwagon, this
creative format blurs the line between performance and
podcasting. It's a great example of how artists are
using live podcasts to create immersive
fan driven events that go beyond the typical
concert experience. I love this. This is
100% something like we're trying to do here at the theater. This is an
event includes podcasting, other multimedia
events. You get a different perspective. You get that one on
one feeling of talking to somebody and hearing what they think in real
time and seeing how their brain works. You just don't get that from a
recorded podcast. But seeing this live, I love this.
Congratulations, Troy. This is an amazing thing you're doing.
Again, check the link. All the links for these articles will be
in the show notes. This one comes from Burlington Free Press.
Our second story tonight File Hunter Podcasts
on the News this is the this is the podcast Pduti
and the News, but this one is Podcast on the News and it comes
to us from NBC Connecticut. Spotlighting the Second Act Sessions
podcast. Hosted by Stephanie Carmody. The show
features guests who've made bold career or life
changes, proving it's never too late to choose a new dream.
Each episode offers inspiration for anyone considering a fresh start.
It's a powerful reminder that the next chapter of your story
might just be the most exciting one yet. Now, this isn't quite a live
podcast, but it's fun to see podcasts in the news. Here's a local news
station highlighting Stephanie's new podcast. Second Act Sessions has
a couple episodes already published and she's already getting press
coverage. So this is just a different way for you to think of your show.
How to take it in front of people, how to get those eyeballs on your
show. Our third story tonight,
filed under Seriously Kelly's Going Live.
This comes to us from Radio Inc. Kelly Ripa is bringing her
hit podcast let's Talk Off Camera to live
radio. Starting this week, the show will air on Sirius
XM Radio Andy Channel every Wednesday, giving
fans a chance to hear celebrity interviews and unfiltered
conversations in real time. This move marks another step
in the growing crossover between podcasting and traditional
broadcasting. By going live, Ripa is
tapping into a more immediate connection with her
audience, blending the intimacy of podcasting with the excitement
of live radio. Again, just that next evolution we
keep talking about here at the theater. Podcasts can be more than just
a recording in your home basement, your home office. These are things
you can take out to the public. You can get onto the radio, you can
get onto news coverage. You can do a hybrid event with music
and all kinds of fun things at a festival. Keep these things in mind because
this is what we're trying to do here. And our final story
for May 5th tonight, going to file this under Murder
Mystery with a twist of Midwest. How about
that? This is coming to us from the Rhythm City Casino.
This is a pretty big one. The Midwest Murder Podcast is going
live at Rhythm city casino on June
21, bringing its signature true crime storytelling to
the stage. Host Jonah and Dawn dig into chilling
regional cases, revealing the shocking truths behind small
town headlines. This live show blends investigative
journalism with theater, inviting fans to experience
their favorite podcast in a whole new way. If you're into true
crime and live entertainment, this is your kind of night
out. The best part? Tickets start at just $20,
so here we go again. This is an event and
maybe a form of entertainment you never thought about doing live in front of an
audience. Here's a podcast. Going to a local casino,
going to their theater and having a live show on
Saturday. Saturday night from 6 to 7:30. It's prime time
June 21, so make sure check out all the links in the show notes
for stories today. And let's talk about some of the live shows we have
coming up at the Paduti Live podcast theater. We have the Tarentum Night
Market. I'm doing an open stage so if you want to hang out, just
sit in the room with me and get on stage and do whatever comes
naturally. We will have all kinds of fun happening
tonight on May 8th. It's from 5
to 9pm we're just gonna hang out. There is a festival going
on down the street. You can get food, you can listen to music. DJ sky
is probably going to be there. We have, speaking of DJ
sky, we have family trivia game night coming up. This is a ten
dollar ticketed event. May 14th. DJ sky and I are gonna
do four games of family friendly trivia. It's only ten
bucks. Come on down to the theater, play in the theater or
watch it online from wherever you're at. And if
you're getting serious about getting on camera, getting in front of people, being a public
speaker, you're not going to want to miss using improv techniques to
be a better podcaster With Paul Mattingly. This is a
six hour immersive event.
May 24th. We will be there going through these different
techniques, different tactics that you can use to be a better podcast
or a better public speaker or just get in front of people with more confidence.
We have Cuddy Beasy is coming with Super Party Central. We did
move this because of the storms but this will be. He'll be back June
7th from 8 to 9:38 to 10 I
believe it's Super Party Central featuring celebrity host Cuddy
Beezy and more. It's gonna be a lot of fun. Make sure you check the
links and look at what's happening for that night. And look at
this guy. One of my favorite events coming up, the one year
anniversary of P Live Podcast theater. We are
celebrating wisdom. We have a private sponsor buying food
for everybody. We'll feed you, we'll hang out, we'll talk about all
kinds of chaos. That's on June 14th. We're
gonna do our one year anniversary party. Can you believe it? There's a podcast theater
that's been alive and open for one year now here
in Pittsburgh. And look who's back.
Everybody's favorite, the Crips and Corks podcast. They performed
for us back in April. They're coming back in June with a new story
to talk about. I won't spoil it until they announce it
themselves. They're doing the research right now. This is an
immersive performance. They go all in on
the show. It's one of my favorite shows I've seen live. Crips and corks
June 21, the savage unfiltered
show all the way from Florida, passing through Tarentum. Two
nights. They're gonna do August 8th and 9th or August 7th
and 8th. Check the website for the details. And Poduty
Fest. Coming up, over 30 podcasters take the stage on our two day
event. We did it last year. This is Poduty Live
2025. We will be showcasing local
talent. Live talent gets priority on the stage. We will have
virtual and live stream so go to the event page. You can
register. If you want to do your podcast live on that day you can
submit it for consideration or if you want to come on down. Coming out, we're
going to have a party the night before. It's gonna be myself. Maria
Wise will be remote and I believe Phil
better, the podcast mogul will be coming in
internationally. Coming in again to to the place
where we do our thing here at the Padu live podcast theater. For dates and
deets, go over to Poduty.com that's
