news stories coming your way. It's Poduty in the news. We're
turning up the mic with Jeff Revilla guiding you through stories we all like from
Buffy fans and book signings. Live on stage, they cheer the brewers pouring
purpose in a pint of local beer. Women's voices ringing true in Florence
full of grace while Strawberry shortcake Snaker takes her passion place to place and down
in aisles. Nick's bringing heat left Podcast mix good trouble goes on tour
with Curtios dropping kicks. So plug and press play and let your
earbuds choose. You're tuned in now to pop duty and the news.
We are back live at the Poduty Live Podcast Theater
in downtown Tarentum, Pennsylvania. We took a couple weeks off
from doing the live element of the show because Pennsylvania had some
terrible storms roll through a couple weeks ago. It
was like a tsunami of wind just came. It was a five
minute storm. It came as fast as it came in. It
was incredible. I had a little bit of damage to the roof of my house.
All that's getting taken care of. But we are back doing the show live the
way it was meant to be. This is a live news podcast about
live news podcasting. So very meta. We got to do this
live just because I am a stickler for
details. We've got five great stories tonight and when I
started this podcast just a month ago, I struggled to find one
or two live podcasting episodes. This is a record. We have
five stories to cover tonight, so let's get right into it.
We're gonna file this first one under Love, Loss and
Stakes through the Heart. This is from WBUR
in Boston on April 29th. This already happened, but it's a good story
to tell you about. WBUR hosted a live
podcast taping of Buffy the Vampire Slayer
once more with Spoilers, the new rewatch show
that dives back into the Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but this time with all
the spoilers revealed. Co hosts Jenny Owen Youngs
and Kristen Russo returned just ahead of the season two
premiere to celebrate iconic Buffy moments,
answer fan questions, and share behind the scenes stories from
their hit podcast. The event also marked the release of
their new memoir, Slayers Every One of Us, which explores
their journey through love, divorce and podcasting. With live
readings, audience interaction and signed books on site.
This was the can't miss night for scoobies and storytellers alike.
The best part? Tickets were $5. So you want to go out a
night on the town? Enjoy a live podcast taping?
Connect with the podcast host. They're also combining this
with a book premiere. $5.
What an event. An example of how podcasts can transform
to live events. Let's go to
our second story. Pouring one out for public service,
the brewbound podcast dives deep into the intersection
of brewing and community. Featuring Leah
Cheston of Right Proper Brewing and Adam
Charnock of High Wire Brewing. Justin shares the
story behind Executive Order Me a Beer, a Pay It Forward
program offering free beers and networking to furloughed federal workers
in D.C. along with the hilarious reality of raising kids who
believe all parents own breweries. Meanwhile,
Charnock reflects on rebuilding High Wire's Asheville location after
damage from Hurricane Helene and describing the hidden challenges behind
the city's seemingly smooth recovery. The
episode blends business insights with personal stories, reminding us
that the beer industry is more than hops and malts. It's about
people and purpose. The show was recorded live
at cbc, a great way to show you how you can take your podcast
live on the road. Get in front of an audience, share your stories with
an audience. Whether it's a trade show, an event, a conference, a meet and
greet, there's plenty of places to do live podcasting, which is what
we're doing here at the Poduty Podcast Theater. Check it out. P O D U
T Y It's our theater for live performance, podcasts, live
events, and so much more. Our third story
tonight, she Said It Best brought to us by
the Gazette Net Podcast host, musician and
storyteller Richelle Rice is bringing her Tell her this to the
Bombix center for Arts and Equity on May 22nd
and 23rd for two nights of live storytelling,
music and multimedia. The podcast, which
elevates women's personal stories without turning them into advice
or expertise, blends live performance, visual arts
and vulnerability in what Rice calls a concert Experience
with Heart. Thursday night will feature local women sharing their stories
alongside live music, while Friday's Headlines
event will spotlight Rice's podcast and her new art
installation video, Strong Like Water. It's not just a
podcast, it's a celebration of womanhood, truth telling, and the
kind of storytelling that leads to healing and connection.
Pay attention to the story. It's a two night event and the headlining
event is the podcast. So if you're not
paying attention to the power of live podcasting, what Rochelle Rice is
doing is capitalizing on that right now fourth
story tonight strawberry shortcake mic
drop this is from fox 23 news out in I believe
Tulsa. The Sharing, Passion and Purpose podcast brought
creative energy to Tulsa with a live event featuring
legendary designer Muriel J. Ferrion,
the original artist behind Strawberry Shortcake, the Care Bears and
the Get Along Gang. Host Nancy Moore curated the night to empower
local women through storytelling, community and inspiration.
Farrionne shared her journey from toy designer to social
media resurgence, relaunching herself at 73
under the name out of Thin Air. With over 100,000
Instagram followers and a growing global fan base,
Farrion's story reminded attendees that it's never too late to tap into
your creative purpose and that some characters really do
live forever. Another example of how live
podcasting can have meet and greets. You can bring in celebrities and
have Q&As and get to meet and interact with the local community.
A very powerful event and it's somebody who grew up in the 80s
and you recognize Strawberry Shortcake Care Bears in the Get Along Gang.
That would have been a great event for somebody in their 40s, 50s
just to hang out and hear the stories behind how all the Strawberry Shortcakes
were made. I know I would have been there. And our final
story Serve Smash and say It Live by Greek City
Live tennis star Nick Kyrgios is
hitting the stage instead of the court this November with a live
Australian tour of his chart topping podcast Good Trouble.
Known for his no holds barred personality, Nick will host
unfiltered conversations with bold culture shaping guests
in five major cities from Brisbane to
Adelaide. The show's raw and honest vibe will
carry over to live events where Nick promises real talk
on creativity, mental health and breaking the mold.
It's podcasting with a Grand Slam twist and fans can join
the waitlist now to snag early events. And we see
these type of events happening all over the place. People who are
celebrities, athletes who have a major draw are able
to fill up theaters and arenas and bring in an audience. So
we know live podcasting has roots. We know that live
podcasting is something the public is going to see. And if
you want to see more live podcasting come to poduty.com p o d u t
y we've got events scheduled all the way through
August. September already already booking out. Events are open,
dates are open. We'd love to host your podcast live at our theater.
